Question:
Why is Lover in Wiltshire so called?

Answer:
It is believed to be a corruption of Lower Redlynch; an area that is a little distance from the original settlement of Redlynch. Until the second half of the 19th century it was known as Warminster Green. Every February the post office here is very busy as Valentine's Day cards sent from here are handstamped 'Lover'. Pictured is Lover Garage.
