A Roman Catholic church had been consecrated in Amesbury in 1933 and in 1964 a Catholic primary school opened. This took children from Amesbury and the surrounding villages. Pupil numbers grew and various extensions to the original buildings have been made. In 1991 there were 236 pupils, aged from 5 to 11 years, while by 1998 there were 259, 134 boys and 125 girls, in 9 classes with 14 teachers. In 2002 there were 263 pupils aged from 4 to 11 years.
