Literary Associations Introduction

These are instances where a community is used as a location for a novel, poem or other creative work. The setting has to be well defined and comprise a reasonable part of the work. Phrase such as 'they stopped overnight at Marlborough on their way to London' would not qualify the book for inclusion under Marlborough. Novels which purport to be set in Wiltshire but show no knowledge of the county are not included, nor are poems which may have the title of a Wiltshire place but whose subject matter is about something entirely different.
