Neolithic long barrow excavated between 1820 and 1850

 

Details

A)Mutilated long barrow opened by Merewether who found a secondary Late Bronze Age urn with burnt bones but no primary deposit. C)The pot is part of a Biconical Urn with Trevisker-like handles. B)Side ditches are clearly defined, each 24m wide and 0.6m deep. Now under pasture but its terminals have been ploughed.
