I visited the church of St Peters last Friday and was intrigued as to why he church was such a distance from the village. I understand there was a medieval village around Langley House and was wondering if this was the original cause of the site of the church as the first church appears to date from the the time of the first Langley House and possibly the church was erected by the Langley House owners.. Can you throw some light on this? Thanking you in anticipation.

One of my great-grandfathers was a Wesleyan Minister who was posted to the Melksham Circuit 1865-1867. His second son was born 28 Nov 1866 at Lands End Villas, Langley Burrell. I wish to know if the Villas still exist or if a photograph is available.
