Question:
Do you know or is it possible to find out what year the Dog and Gun public house, Netheravon, dates back to.

Answer:
The Dog and Gun opened as a public house between 1848 and 1855. In Kelly's Directory of Wiltshire 1848 David Dyke is listed as a shopkeeper but in the next directory (1855) he is shown as running the Dog and Gun and operating a grocer's shop. By 1859 his licensed trade had become prosperous as he had given up the grocer's shop and had his own small brewery. In the 1867 the Dog and Gun is in the name of George Trinder Dyke, who is also listed as a brewer.
