Question:
About 600 to 800 men died at thr Battle of Roundway. Where were they buried?

Answer:
Most bodies would have been buried near to the place they fell, on and around Roundway Hill, probably making use of prehistoric ditches that are common in this area. A few skeletons from the battle were uncovered in the mid 19th century. Any local men may have been reclaimed by their families and buried in consecrated ground, as was the case with one man of Chirton who was buried in Rowde churchyard
