Jean Morrison - 'Charles Shears [1825 - 1914] was born at Winterslow, Wiltshire, of a family of woodsmen and labourers. The most celebrated of the family was Lydia Shears, a reputed witch who could turn herself into a hare. She was eventually shot and killed with a silver bullet.'
