I was at TBHS 1963-64. Interesting ly I remember Mr Bastian very well. Didn't know his forename was Frank as everyone referred to him as Seb for obvious reasons. Bizarrely what I remember most that Steve Dunn always maintained he was the world's greatest authority on Daniel Defoe. True or not that has always stuck with me when I come across to a reference on him.

I was at TBHS/THS between 1964-1971. I was in Farleigh House too - the yellow house was Brooke. Like Mike Marshman, I was taught by both the scholarly Frank Bastian and by John Broome and am indebted to both for teaching me history- (Mr. Llewellyn also taught history and I enjoyed his lessons too whilst in 3a). I attended Trowbridge Boys High School from 1961 to 1966. Can you remind me of the fourth House I was in Farleigh and I recall Gaunt and Forest. What was the Yellow House? It was Wraxall after South Wraxall manor house (MJM)

As creator of this web site I thought I'd add a comment as well as writing and editing articles. I was a pupil here, when it was Trowbridge Boys' High School, between 1959 and 1966 and had my interest in history nurtured by Frank Bastian and John Broome. Well for the last 24 years I've been working with Wiltshire History and have been at the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre since we opened in 2007.
