On 6 November 1811 a house belonging to Robert Wheelers was certified for Methodist worship. A licence was granted on 9 August 1828 for Wesleyan Methodist worship at the house of William Davies. The following year, in 1829, there were seven Methodists recorded as living at Poulshot. A Wesleyan chapel was constructed in 1886 according to the designs of C.E. Ponting of Marlborough; it accommodated 100 people. In 1915 cookery classes for children of the village school were taught in the chapel. It is now a private house. |
