The Reading Room, later known as the Village Hall, was built in 1913 on land provided by Lord Radnor. He also contributed towards the building costs of £435, while haulage and labouring was carried out by men of West Grimstead. At one time the hall housed a village lending library; after 1952 it was used for providing school dinners for the schoolchildren, and later it was used for the infants' class of the school.
