Aldbourne 1974-1976 Parish Council undertakes a village appraisal
Amesbury 1974 Sports hall and youth centre built; Amesbury Secondary Modern School becomes a comprehensive school and is renamed Stonehenge School
Calne 1974 Bentley Grammar School merges with Fynemore School to become John Bentley Comprehensive School (later the John Bentley School); the Corporation is abolished and Calne Borough Council disappears and the town becomes part of North Wiltshire District Council
